Poverty

American Poverty by Monroe's Dragonfly.

America's Children In Poverty by Monroe's Dragonfly.

Here’s a Poem I wrote about poverty.

Footprints Washed Away

She walks down the beach.Footprints in the sand, Oregon by erikmeldrum.

Raggedy and Jigged.

her tears fall down her face knowing she has nothing left.

black beans and rice by rachel is coconut&lime. She eats 10 grains of rice a day.

Feeling dead everywhere.

Her Mom is at home trying to survive,

Her dad is at home about to cry.

They cant work, even if they try.

All She has left is her foot prints in the sand,

until a wave comes and washes then away.Indispensable for survival... by carf.

Poverty Is Something that goes on all around the world, it is a serious issue. I wish I can do Something about it. Donate some rice just using your mind!Click here

Among the 21 most affluent nations, the United States has the highest percentage of poor children. In fact, our rate is twice that of the country next in line.

Too many young Americans go to bed with empty stomachs. They also wake up to seemingly hopeless futures: school problems, unemployment, welfare, gangs, drugs and crime. Children of poverty are more likely to suffer young and violent deaths.

Mentally and physically malnourished for the first five years of their lives, they are unable to keep up in class.   ( this information was proided by http://www.heartsandminds.org/articles/childpov.htm)

Thank you, Julya, your post really touches our heart.
Our Campaigns to keep our minds open and alert can’t stop, for there is so much distraction and time consuming, useless tasks we have to go through, that our capacity to remain aware and conscious about essential questions just fades away.
In our school we have a solidarity association called AJU where a young Psychologist helps children and adolescents that are suffering from the terrible ravages that the absence of normal conditions of life can imply.
Together, we are not too many to help healing poverty consequences on the life of children and youth.

    Hello Julya
I really like how you organized this post really well, and thought hard of your presentation.
I wish too that I could help the poor and donate some money… the government should do something!
I especially like your descriptive poem that brought tears to my eyes, and your pictures…
Wow. Very well written in just a few amazing sentences. :)
I have played the rice game, though it was quite difficult because I got stressed and got impatient, though I knew it would be awful to quit because each second I wasted a person in poverty might die or even starve. So I persisted on and in the end delivered around 500 grams! YAY.Thanks for sharing this website, and I just hope that in a few years all the poor will get better and live freely, happily, safely and in peace. :(
    Great work!
    Hope we can be friends!!

    Hi Julya,

I loved the images you used to portray the feelings about poverty that you had. The use of poetry to also make it more apparent to your blogs visitors that there is a real issue of poverty here in the United States. It’s also interesting to point out how many people here in the US, in areas like Connecticut don’t usually see the issues of poverty first hand. Great post!

nice poem julya. it really made me think that we take for granted what some people in or country would make the most of if it was theirs.
