International Year Of Planet Earth
For Week 9… WOW I cant believe it! Anyway for week 9 I am writing about International Year of Planet Earth.
The reason I picked it was because Earth is my home and it is your home ANYONE who is reading this home! And I just care about it not being nasty and un-safe!
So, what is IYPE(International Year of Planet Earth.)?
“The International Year of Planet Earth aims to ensure greater and more effective use by society of the knowledge accumulated by the world’s 400,000 Earth scientists. The Year’s ultimate goal of helping to build safer, healthier and wealthier societies around the globe is expressed in the Year’s subtitle ‘Earth
science for Society’.
The International Year runs from January 2007 to December 2009, the central year of the triennium (2008) having been proclaimed by the UN General Assembly as the UN Year. The UN sees the Year as a contribution to their sustainable development targets as it promotes wise (sustainable) use of Earth materials and encourages better planning and management to reduce risks for the world’s inhabitants.”

Hey Julya
But later on, I was attracted to the ‘Year of The Potato’ which made me think ‘Oh, what could that be?’ and it ended up becoming my option and making a big hit.
MY! I was also attracted to this subject too at first sight, but then all of a sudden when I read through it I wasn’t interested anymore. Sadly, the information wasn’t quite what I was looking for in a special post!
Love the picture added to this post…
Wow! I can’t believe there are so many scientists in the world. I have learned something again. YAY! Thank you Julya. I agree, knowledge is extremely important in life, because if you don’t have an education you don’t have money, and you don’t have a life. So to have money in your pocket ready for any emergency is always necessary and a beneficial option of living your life.
WORK HARD IN LIFE AND YOU WILL SUCCEED!
Lovely quote, I understood its meaning straight away and loved it. So much meaning in it hidden behind every word. I just hope people pass this on and read it to know how important thatb quote is.

Not to do with Planet Earth, but would love to see your research on Sturbridge Village. I love history and have done a lot on my family and the local area of where I teach.

Not sure if my comment worked but I would love to read your research about Sturbridge Village. I love history, both local and family.
